Basseterre & Southeast Coast (Frigate Bay, Basseterre, Cockleshell Bay)

Humidity starts to creep back and afternoons warm noticeably, but brisk trade winds still moderate the heat along the coast making beach days pleasant. Showers begin to appear more often toward the latter half of the month, usually short but intense; these can briefly reduce visibility for boat trips. Hikes that approach the shore from Basseterre remain pleasant in the morning - bring waterproof shoes for muddy tracks after downpours.

Northwest & Leeward Coast (Sandy Point, Romney Manor, Brimstone Hill approaches)

Heat increases and with it the chance of brief showers later in the day; mornings remain the most dependable window for outdoor exploring. Sandy Point’s shorelines are warm and soft, though occasional run-off can lessen water clarity after heavy rains. Schedule hikes and longer drives for early hours to avoid afternoon downpours and sticky humidity.

Mount Liamuiga & Central Highlands (Rainforest, hiking trails)

Humidity increases and the highlands begin to see more frequent mist and afternoon showers; the contrast between warm coastal air and cool elevated cloud can be striking. Waterfalls swell and cascade stronger down the hiking routes, so photographers will be rewarded, though paths get slippery. Use waterproof boots and consider guided treks to avoid eroded tracks during the wet onset.

Nevis (Charlestown, Pinney’s Beach, Nevis Peak, Bath Village)

Spring’s approach brings a touch more humidity and the possibility of Saharan dust episodes that can briefly dim the blue Caribbean horizon, usually between February and April.
