How to Get to St. George's, Bermuda

St. George's is on the easterly end of Bermuda and is reached by road from L.F. Wade International Airport. There is no rail; public buses, ferries and taxis provide the island's public transport.

By Air

L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA): Bermuda’s primary airport is on the western side of the island. Taxis to St. George’s take about 25-35 minutes depending on traffic and cost roughly BMD $35-$50 (Bermudian dollar = US dollar). There is no rail service on the island.

No other major international airports on‑island: If arriving via cruise ship you disembark at St. George’s or Hamilton; transfers will depend on the ship schedule.

By Train & Bus

Train: Bermuda has no train network.

Bus / Ferry: Public buses connect Hamilton and St. George’s; fares are typically BMD $3.50-$4 per single journey and the trip from Hamilton to St. George’s takes roughly 45-75 minutes depending on route. There is also a passenger ferry service between Hamilton and St. George’s/nearby points at certain times (seasonal/timetable dependent) - ferry fares are similar to bus fares.

How to Get Around St. George's, Bermuda #

St. George’s is a compact historic town that’s very walkable; many attractions sit within easy walking distance of King’s Square and the waterfront. Bermuda’s public buses and ferries connect St. George’s with other parts of the island, and taxis are readily available for shorter hops. Note that car hire is restricted in Bermuda for tourists - most visitors use buses, ferries, taxis or rent scooters to get around, so plan accordingly.
