About Spean Kazuna#
The Spean Kazuna bridge was built and funded by Japan and long stood as the only bridge across the Mekong River in Cambodia. Its arrival transformed Kampong Cham: the modern span between the two banks improved the flow of goods and turned the city into a staging point for travellers heading into eastern Cambodia. It also revitalised the local economy, driven in part by the surrounding agriculture and a booming rubber trade.
