How to Get to Rumia
Rumia sits on the Tricity commuter network and is best reached via Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport or by regional rail (SKM). For local travel, the SKM trains and local buses are frequent and affordable.
Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN): The nearest major airport to Rumia is Gdańsk airport, about 30-40 km east. Trains or buses from Gdańsk to Rumia take around 30-45 minutes by regional rail or SKM; taxi from the airport to Rumia is roughly 120-180 PLN and takes 30-45 minutes.
Other airports: Warsaw Chopin (WAW) and Poznań (POZ) are farther away and are not practical for a short trip to Rumia without additional long transfers.
Train (SKM / PKP): Rumia is on the Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM) commuter rail line connecting Rumia with Rumia Janowo, Reda, Wejherowo and the Tricity (Rumia-Reda-Wejherowo-Gdynia-Sopot-Gdańsk). Journey times to Gdynia are about 10-15 minutes, to Gdańsk 30-40 minutes. Single SKM tickets are zone-based (roughly 4-8 PLN depending on distance).
Bus / Coach: Regional buses connect Rumia with nearby towns and villages; local municipal buses and private carriers serve short routes within the Wejherowo/Rumia area. Fares for local buses are typically a few PLN.
