How to Get to Randazzo
Randazzo is best reached via Catania (CTA) and the Circumetnea (FCE) railway or regional buses. The FCE is the characteristic and scenic way to approach Randazzo from the Catania area.
Catania-Fontanarossa (CTA): Catania is the main airport for eastern Sicily. From CTA take the Alibus to Catania Centrale (about 20-30 minutes, fare around €4) and then transfer to the Circumetnea (FCE) narrow‑gauge railway or regional buses toward Randazzo; the rail journey through the Etna foothills takes about 1.5-2 hours.
Palermo (PMO): Palermo is a longer drive (around 2.5-3 hours) and less convenient for Randazzo unless you plan a wider Sicily itinerary; consider traveling via Catania for fastest access.
Train: Randazzo is served by the Ferrovia Circumetnea (FCE) narrow‑gauge line that runs between Catania/Riposto and towns around Mount Etna. The line is scenic but slower than standard rail; expect about 1.5-2 hours from Catania.
Bus: Regional buses link Randazzo with Catania, Taormina and nearby villages; buses can be quicker on some routes and provide good seasonal connections for hikers and visitors to Etna.
How to Get Around Randazzo #
