How to Get to Aci Catena#
Aci Catena is a short, inexpensive rail or bus ride from Catania-Fontanarossa (CTA). The fastest route is CTA → Catania Centrale (Alibus or taxi) → regional train to Aci Catena; total travel time is commonly under an hour and fares for the regional leg are very low.
Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA): Catania CTA is the main airport serving Aci Catena. From CTA take the Alibus airport shuttle (ticket around €4) or a taxi to Catania Centrale (about 15-25 minutes). From Catania Centrale, regional Trenitalia trains or local commuter services reach Aci Catena in roughly 10-20 minutes; regional train tickets are inexpensive (around €1.30 for short runs).
Comiso (CIY) / Palermo (PMO): Comiso and Palermo are alternative Sicilian airports but are considerably farther; travel from these airports typically involves longer rail/bus transfers via Catania or Messina and takes significantly more time.
