How to Get to Ngapali
Ngapali is served by Thandwe Airport (SNW) with short onward transfers to resorts on Ngapali Beach. Most visitors fly from Yangon or Mandalay and then take a taxi or hotel transfer from Thandwe to the beachfront.
Thandwe Airport (SNW): Ngapali’s closest airport is Thandwe (SNW), with regular domestic flights from Yangon (RGN) and Mandalay; flight time from Yangon is around 1-1.5 hours. From Thandwe airport, Ngapali Beach is a short 10-25 minute taxi transfer depending on your resort location.
Heho / Yangon (connecting): International travellers normally connect through Yangon or Yangon’s domestic network to reach Thandwe.
Train: There is no direct long-distance train service that serves Ngapali; rail is not a practical option.
Bus / Road: Overland journeys from major Myanmar cities are possible but long; buses to Thandwe or nearby towns take many hours and are less common among international visitors. Domestic flights remain the dominant way to reach Ngapali.
