Mount Wuteve Mountain

Mount Wuteve is the highest mountain in Liberia and the country’s principal topographic high point, located in the northern part of the country. It is the most prominent summit within Liberia’s portion of the West African highland zone.

Trails to the summit traverse tropical forest and upland terrain and offer panoramic views over the surrounding Lofa County countryside on clear days. Hikes are usually undertaken by experienced local guides and involve unpaved roads and footpaths rather than developed trail infrastructure.

The mountain forms part of the highland landscape in northern Liberia and sits within Lofa County. The nearest significant regional centre is the county town, which serves as the usual starting point for organised trips into the uplands.
