Lofa-Mano National Park National Park

Lofa-Mano National Park is a protected area in northwestern Liberia within Gbarpolu County, occupying tropical forest country near the country’s border region. It is recognised for its forest habitats and biodiversity within Liberia’s upland and frontier forest zone.

The site is valued for its relatively intact forest, rivers and wildlife; access is often by unpaved roads and tracks and field visits require local guidance and planning. There are no major visitor facilities inside the park and it is primarily of interest for conservation and scientific surveys rather than conventional tourism.

The area was identified for protection because of its forest resources and wildlife importance and has been the focus of conservation planning in recent decades. Administrative and management arrangements have evolved with involvement from national and international conservation organisations.
