How to Get to Luis M. Cintrón
Luis M. Cintrón (Fajardo area) is easiest to reach by flying into SJU and driving east, or via Ceiba where limited regional services may operate. There's no rail; a car or taxi is the most practical way to reach Fajardo and the ferries to the islands.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): The primary airport for eastern Puerto Rico as well; driving to Fajardo/Luis M. Cintrón area takes roughly 50-70 minutes via PR-26/PR-3 or PR-53 depending on traffic. Car rental or a private transfer is the most practical choice.
Ceiba (José Aponte de la Torre) Airport (NRR/CEC) (limited/regional): Ceiba is closer to Fajardo and sometimes used for regional services and charters; check current commercial schedules before relying on it.
Train: Tren Urbano does not reach Fajardo.
Bus: There are intercity buses and shared taxis from San Juan and other towns to Fajardo, but frequencies vary. For reliable access to ferry terminals (to Vieques/Culebra) and eastern beaches, driving or a pre-booked transfer is recommended.
