Luchenza (Mulanje area) is reached most easily via Blantyre. Fly into Blantyre (Chileka) and continue by minibus or taxi; long overland routes from Lilongwe are possible but time-consuming.
Chileka International Airport (BLZ) / Blantyre: The nearest major airport for southern Malawi is Chileka (serving Blantyre). From Blantyre, Luchenza in Mulanje District is around 30-60 minutes by road depending on traffic and exact destination; taxis and minibuses serve the route.
Lilongwe International Airport (LLW): Lilongwe is the main international gateway for Malawi; overland travel from Lilongwe to Luchenza is long (several hours) so many visitors fly into Blantyre for southern destinations like Luchenza.
