How to Get to Loncoche
Loncoche is a small city in La Araucanía in southern Chile. The nearest commercial airport is La Araucanía (Temuco, ZCO); most visitors arrive by air to Temuco or Puerto Montt and continue by intercity bus or car to Loncoche.
La Araucanía International Airport / Temuco (ZCO): Temuco’s airport is the closest commercial airport to Loncoche. From ZCO to Loncoche the drive is about 1-1.5 hours; taxis or private transfers typically cost CLP 20,000-40,000 depending on season and vehicle.
El Tepual / Puerto Montt (PMC): Puerto Montt is a larger southern gateway; travel from PMC to Loncoche is longer (3-4+ hours by road). Regional buses connect Puerto Montt with inland towns; fares vary with distance and carrier.
Train: Chile’s long‑distance passenger rail is limited in this region and does not serve Loncoche directly; rail travel is not a practical option for most visitors.
