How to Get to Lluveras
Lluveras is a barrio in Sabana Grande in southwestern Puerto Rico. Most visitors arrive through San Juan (SJU) or Aguadilla (BQN) and continue by road - driving or arranging a transfer is the normal approach.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): San Juan’s main airport is the usual arrival point for western and southwestern Puerto Rico; driving from SJU to Sabana Grande/Lluveras takes roughly 1.25-2 hours depending on traffic and exact location. Ground options: rental car (typical rates USD 30-60/day), taxi or rideshare (longer trips will be pricier), or intercity shuttle.
Aguadilla-Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN): Aguadilla’s airport serves the west coast and is closer to Sabana Grande than SJU for some routes; the drive to Sabana Grande typically takes around 30-60 minutes. Rental cars and taxis are available; schedules for commercial flights vary by season.
Train: Puerto Rico has no passenger rail linking to Sabana Grande; trains are not an option.
Bus: Public intercity buses and private vans serve many towns across the island. For Lluveras you’ll generally travel by intercity bus to Sabana Grande and then use a local taxi or shared van for the final stretch. Fares for intercity buses are low (a few dollars) but expect longer total travel times because of transfers.
