How to Get to Fuig
Fuig (Guánica barrio-pueblo) is reached primarily by road from Puerto Rico's airports. The nearest commercial airport is Mercedita (Ponce); San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín handles most international flights and requires a longer drive west. Renting a car or booking a private shuttle is the most practical way to reach and move around Guánica.
Mercedita Airport (PSE): The closest airport serving southern Puerto Rico (Ponce). From PSE you can reach Guánica by rental car or taxi; driving time is about 30-40 minutes to Guánica town. Taxi/shuttle transfers typically cost in the USD 30-60 range depending on luggage and exact drop-off.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): San Juan’s main airport is about 1-1.5 hours’ drive from Guánica depending on traffic.
