Kimilili (Bungoma District) is best reached overland from Nairobi or Eldoret-domestic flights to Eldoret followed by matatu or bus transfers are common. Road minibuses (matatus) are the primary public transport option in western Kenya.

By Air

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) / Wilson (WIL) - Nairobi: International visitors generally arrive into Nairobi and continue by road to Bungoma County.

Eldoret International Airport (EDL): Closer regional airport for western Kenya; from Eldoret you can drive or take public matatus toward Kimilili-road travel is typically 1.5-3 hours depending on route and stops.

By Train & Bus

Train: Kenya’s passenger rail network does not provide direct services to Kimilili; rail is not a practical option for the town.
