Jinja is most commonly reached by road from Kampala and via Entebbe International Airport (EBB), the nearest major airport. There is no reliable passenger rail service to Jinja, so most arrivals continue by bus, shuttle or private car from Kampala/Entebbe.

By Air

Entebbe International Airport (EBB): Entebbe is the main international gateway for visitors to Jinja. By car or taxi the drive is about 80-100 km and typically takes 2-2.5 hours depending on traffic; expect a private taxi transfer to cost roughly USD 50-80 (≈UGX 200,000-300,000) one way. Cheaper options are to take a shared minibus or coach from Entebbe to Kampala and then another minibus to Jinja - total travel time 2.5-3.5 hours and total fares typically under UGX 15,000-25,000 (≈USD 4-7).

By Train & Bus
