How to Get to Igalo

Igalo is best reached by road from nearby airports (Tivat, Dubrovnik or Podgorica) - there is no direct rail link. In practice visitors use Tivat or Dubrovnik with a final bus, shuttle or taxi to Igalo.

By Air

Tivat Airport (TIV): The closest airport for Igalo/Herceg Novi (around 20-40 minutes by road depending on border crossing and route). From TIV you can take a taxi to Igalo (around 25-40 minutes, typically €25-40) or rent a car.

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV): Located in Croatia but commonly used for Herceg Novi/Igalo, particularly in summer. Dubrovnik → Igalo involves a bus or shuttle to Herceg Novi and a border crossing (transfer time ~1-1.5 hours depending on queues); expect shuttle fares roughly €10-25 and taxis higher. Podgorica (TGD) is another option (longer drive, ~1.5-2 hours).

By Train & Bus

Train: Montenegro’s rail network does not serve Herceg Novi/Igalo directly; there is no convenient rail option for the last leg.

Bus: Intercity buses run to Herceg Novi from Tivat, Kotor and Podgorica; local buses or short taxi rides cover the last few kilometres into Igalo. Summer shuttle services operate from Dubrovnik airport to Herceg Novi/Igalo - check seasonal schedules in advance.
