Heho City
Gateway town to Inle Lake with regional airport.
Heho serves almost entirely as the gateway to Inle Lake — a small airport, guesthouses and transport hubs funnel travelers to Shan-State pagodas, floating gardens, boat rides and mountain treks.
Why Visit Heho?#
A gateway in Shan State, Heho’s airport is the arrival point for visitors heading to Inle Lake and nearby Nyaung Shwe. Inle’s floating gardens, leg-rowing fishermen and lacquerware workshops are major draws, and the Shan culinary scene-shan noodles and tea leaf salad-gives a distinctive regional flavor. Seasonal events such as Taunggyi’s balloon festival add spectacle. Small guesthouses and market life make for an intimate base before heading onto the lake.
