How to Get to Aungban#
Aungban in southern Shan State is most practically reached via Heho Airport (domestic flights) with a short road transfer. Overland routes from Mandalay or Yangon are possible but long; local buses and shared taxis handle most regional trips.
Heho Airport (HEH): Heho is the nearest airport serving southern Shan State (the gateway for Taunggyi/Nyaung Shwe/Inle region). From Heho to Aungban the road journey is about 45 minutes-1.5 hours depending on exact pick-up location; taxis cost approximately 8,000-15,000 MMK and local buses are much cheaper but slower.
Mandalay International Airport (MDL) / Yangon (RGN): For international connections you may fly into Mandalay or Yangon and continue by domestic flight to Heho, or travel overland. Overland from Mandalay or Yangon is considerably longer (several hours to a day) and usually involves bus or private car transfers.
Train: Myanmar’s rail network is limited and slow; there are rail links in central Myanmar but not convenient direct services for Aungban. The practical overland option is road transport.
Bus: Regular buses and shared car services connect Aungban with Taunggyi and other Shan State towns. Buses are inexpensive and frequent on main routes; for comfort and reliability, private car hire or tourist transfer from Heho/ Taunggyi is common.
