Hat Bang Rak is a coastal beach area on the northeastern shore of Koh Samui island, commonly referred to as Big Buddha Beach due to the nearby temple.
The beach developed alongside Koh Samui’s growth as a tourist destination and has many small-scale resorts and commercial establishments serving visitors.
The beach is located on Koh Samui in Surat Thani Province, on the northeastern side of the island facing the Gulf of Thailand.
