How to Get to Ghajar
Ghajar lies on the Israel-Lebanon border in the far north; access and local transport are subject to security and jurisdictional considerations. Most travellers use Ben Gurion (TLV) or Haifa as entry points then continue by car or regional bus, but final access may be restricted by local controls.
Ben Gurion Airport (TLV): The main international gateway to Israel; after arrival the fastest options to northern Israel are train or car, though the Golan and border areas are best reached by private car. Drive time from TLV to the Northern District varies widely (3-4+ hours) depending on destination and traffic.
Haifa Airport / Haifa port area: Haifa provides closer access to northern Israel by road, but international flights are limited; most international travellers will arrive at TLV and continue by rail or car northward.
Train: Israel Railways serves Haifa and points south/north along the coastal corridor; there is no railway service directly to small border communities. Use Haifa or Nahariya stations as hubs for northern travel and combine with bus or car for final legs.
Bus: Egged and other operators run buses across northern Israel; for access to sensitive border-adjacent places specialized routes or private transport may be necessary. Bus travel times depend on exact routing; local operators can advise on permitted routes near border zones.
