How to Get to Escalante
Escalante City in northern Negros Occidental is mainly accessed by road from Bacolod. There is no rail service on Negros Island, so buses, vans and private cars are the typical transport choices.
Bacolod-Silay International Airport (BCD): The nearest major airport for Escalante (Negros Occidental) is Bacolod-Silay (BCD). From Bacolod to Escalante City expect a road trip of about 3-4 hours by bus or private car; taxi/private transfers will be quicker but cost more (typical bus fares are PHP 150-300).
Iloilo / Dumaguete options: These airports are on nearby islands and require additional ferry or long road transfers, so Bacolod is usually the preferred gateway for Escalante.
Train: There is no intercity rail service on Negros Island.
