Christiana Islands Islands

The Christiana Islands are a small, uninhabited group of volcanic islets in the South Aegean Sea, part of the Cyclades island group.

The islets are steep, largely rocky and sparsely vegetated, and they act as refuges for seabirds; they are rarely visited and have no permanent settlements.

The islands are volcanic in origin and lie to the south of the main Santorini-Kameni volcanic complex, forming part of the wider Aegean volcanic landscape.

They are located in the South Aegean administrative region of Greece and are typically reached only by private or chartered vessel.

• Access: The islets are uninhabited and support seabird nesting; landings are uncommon and visits are usually by private boat.

There are no regular ferries. Visits are by private boat or charter from larger nearby ports in the South Aegean. Approach in calm conditions and use a local skipper familiar with the islets’ coves and reefs.

• Boat charters are the only practical way to visit; schedule with local operators in the nearest island port.
• Bring cash and provisions; on smaller islets there are no shops or services.
• Check seasonal ferry and charter schedules: service is irregular and weather dependent.
