How to Get to Chiang Klang
Chiang Klang in Nan province is most easily reached via Nan Airport (NNT) with a short road transfer, or by intercity bus to Nan town followed by local transport. The area is rural and travel times depend on mountain roads and seasonal conditions.
Nan Nakhon Airport / Nan Airport (NNT): Nan Airport handles domestic flights from Bangkok; from the airport the drive to Chiang Klang district takes about 30-60 minutes by taxi depending on the village. Taxis and prebooked transfers are the usual option from the airport.
Chiang Mai (CNX): Chiang Mai is a larger northern hub but is several hours by road from Nan; flying to Nan is generally quicker if your destination is Chiang Klang.
Train: There is no direct national rail line into Nan province; the nearest mainline passenger rail access is at Phrae or Lampang which are still a long drive away.
Bus / Minivan: Buses and minivans connect Nan with Bangkok and other northern cities; from Nan town use local songthaews, taxis or hire a motorbike to reach Chiang Klang. Mountain roads can be slow in places, so allow extra travel time.
