How to Get to Campo Rico

Campo Rico (Canóvanas) is best accessed via Luis Muñoz Marín Airport (SJU) with a short drive east. Public transit exists but is limited; driving or booking a transfer will save time and hassle.

By Air

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): Canóvanas and Campo Rico on the east coast are most often reached through SJU in San Juan. A road transfer from SJU to Canóvanas typically takes about 25-45 minutes depending on traffic and costs roughly USD 20-45 by taxi or rideshare. Renting a car at the airport gives flexibility to reach coastal and inland areas.

Rafael Hernández (BQN) / Mercedita (PSE): These regional airports serve other parts of the island (west and south) and are not generally convenient for reaching Canóvanas; SJU is the preferred gateway for the east coast and surrounding municipalities.

By Train & Bus

Train: Tren Urbano operates within the San Juan metro and does not extend to Canóvanas.

Bus: Local buses and shared taxis serve Canóvanas from San Juan and Carolina; routes are inexpensive but sparse. If you require reliable timings or are carrying luggage, a rental car or private transfer is recommended.
