How to Get to Bartolo
Bartolo in Río Grande is easiest to reach by car from San Juan's airport. Local buses and shared vans run along the east corridor, but renting a car or taking a taxi is often quicker for visitors heading to the rainforest or beaches.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): Río Grande and its barrio-pueblo (including Bartolo area) are about 30-50 minutes’ drive east of SJU, depending on traffic and exact location. Taxis and rental cars are common; expect airport-to-Río Grande taxi fares in the $35-$65 range.
Ceiba / José Aponte de la Torre (former service) and smaller airfields: These are less commonly used for commercial flights to Río Grande; SJU is the practical main gateway for most visitors.
Train: Tren Urbano does not reach Río Grande; it is limited to the San Juan metro.
