Bilisht City
City in Korçë County, Albania
Bilisht sits on a high plain near Lake Prespa; travelers come for pastoral scenery, shepherding traditions and sharp regional cheeses, the weekly market, and access to alpine trails and nearby border crossings.
Why Visit Bilisht?#
Near the border with North Macedonia, this southeastern Albanian town draws visitors looking for off-the-beaten-path culture and traditional markets. Local bazaars and small family-run eateries showcase Korçë-region dishes and baked goods, while surrounding hills invite hikes and rural drives. Annual religious and folk celebrations punctuate the calendar, giving travelers a chance to experience authentic community life. It’s a practical stop for witnessing everyday Albanian traditions away from the coast.
