How to Get to Berd

Berd in Tavush Province is a remote town best reached overland from Yerevan by marshrutka (minibus) or private transfer; Zvartnots (Yerevan) is the main international airport used by visitors. Expect long road journeys and limited rail options.

By Air

Zvartnots International Airport (EVN): Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport is the main international gateway for Tavush Province and Berd (about 140-160 km by road from Yerevan to Berd). Driving from Yerevan to Berd takes roughly 2.5-3.5 hours depending on route and border/security checks; taxi or private transfers are available though relatively long and can cost AMD 25,000-45,000 or more depending on vehicle and negotiation. From Yerevan you can travel by bus/minibus (marshrutka) toward Tavush and change as needed.

Tbilisi International Airport (TBS, Georgia): For some northern approaches and cross-border itineraries, travellers sometimes use Tbilisi and then cross into Armenia; this route is longer and involves border crossing formalities, so it’s less common for direct travel to Berd.
