Bauska is easy to reach from Riga by regional train or bus; Riga International Airport (RIX) is the standard air arrival point. The town is compact and transport links are straightforward.

By Air

Riga International Airport (RIX): Bauska is most commonly reached via Riga. From RIX take an airport bus or taxi to Riga centre (~€2-25, 25-30 minutes) and then a regional train or bus to Bauska (see card 2).

Kaunas / Vilnius alternatives: For some travellers coming from Lithuania, Kaunas or Vilnius airports can be used followed by a bus across the border to Bauska, but Riga remains the easiest international gateway.

By Train & Bus

Train: There are regular regional trains from Riga Central Station to Bauska operated by Pasažieru vilciens; journey time is about 60-75 minutes and fares are generally low (around €1.50-3). Trains arrive near the town centre.

Bus: Multiple bus services run from Riga to Bauska with similar travel times (~1-1.5 hours) and fares of about €2-5. Buses are frequent and often the best option for flexible schedules.
