How to Get to Ķegums
Ķegums is an hour or so southeast of Riga and is straightforward to reach by train or regional bus from Riga. The commuter rail service makes it a practical day‑trip destination from the capital.
Riga International Airport (RIX): Riga is the main air gateway for Ķegums. From RIX take bus 22 or an airport shuttle to Riga city centre (journey ~20-30 minutes, fare ~€2) then continue by train or regional bus to Ķegums. Total travel time airport→Ķegums is about 1-1.5 hours.
Other airports: There are no major international airports closer to Ķegums than Riga; international travellers normally arrive at RIX.
Train: Ķegums has its own railway station on the Riga-Daugavpils line served by Pasažieru vilciens commuter/regional trains. Trains from Riga Central Station take roughly 45-70 minutes and single fares are low (usually €1-3 depending on service and ticket type).
Bus: Regional buses also link Riga and Ķegums; journey times are comparable to trains (about 45-75 minutes) and fares are modest. Buses can be useful when train times don’t match your schedule.
