Bangladesh in November: Weather, Crowds & What to Expect

Northern Plains (Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dinajpur)

By November the air is cool and very dry-mornings can be cool enough for a light jacket, especially near Rangpur. This is peak season for domestic travel: local guesthouses fill as families move around and festivals increase. Nighttime trains and buses run well; bring a mix of layers for chilly mornings and warm afternoons if you plan long day trips.

Central & Greater Dhaka Floodplain (Dhaka, Mymensingh, Gazipur)

November is probably the most visitor-friendly month: clear skies, low humidity and very comfortable temperatures that make long days for wandering the old city enjoyable. Domestic travel ramps up as families move around; book accommodation early if visiting for festivals. Early mornings by the Buriganga are cool and mist-free - a good time for photography of riverine life.

Eastern Hills & Sylhet Region (Sylhet, Srimangal, Bandarban, Chittagong Hill Tracts)

November sees cool, dry conditions that are excellent for hiking and photography: mornings are cool, days pleasantly warm, and night skies near Bandarban can be clear for stargazing. Tea estates in Srimangal are at their greenest after the rains and local guides are plentiful for walks through Lawachara National Park. A light fleece is useful for higher-elevation mornings.

November is dry, pleasant and one of the best months for coastal travel - calm seas, comfortable daytime temperatures and starlit nights on Kuakata. The Sundarbans are fully accessible and wildlife sightings often increase as the mangrove channels stabilize. This is peak visitor season; book launches and lodges in advance and bring sunscreen for sunny midday boat rides.

Cox’s Bazar & St. Martin’s Island (Southeast coast, Teknaf, Himchari)

November offers dry, sunny days perfect for sunbathing, long beach walks and boat-based snorkeling around St. Martin’s Island. Tourist facilities are fully operational and accommodation choices expand, though popular hotels book up for holidays. Bring sun protection and light layers for breezy evenings; early morning is ideal for a serene walk towards the Teknaf point.
