High / low are average daily temperatures (°C). “Feels” reflects how hot or cold it feels, allowing for humidity.
Northern Plains (Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dinajpur)
By the second month of winter the dry air holds, with daytime temperatures climbing to the high teens or low 20s°C. This is harvest season in areas around Dinajpur and Rangpur - early markets brim with newly threshed rice and vegetables. Mornings still favor a sweater, but afternoons are pleasant for visiting archaeological sites like Paharpur without the stickiness of summer.
Central & Greater Dhaka Floodplain (Dhaka, Mymensingh, Gazipur)
February warms subtly: daytime highs push into the low-to-mid 20s°C and pollen and dust are noticeable on dry days. This is a good month for exploring the old city and Lalbagh Fort without the oppressive heat, although morning fog still affects long-distance trains. Street food vendors thrive; bring a reusable water bottle and a scarf for hours near riverfronts where breezes can feel suddenly cool.
Eastern Hills & Sylhet Region (Sylhet, Srimangal, Bandarban, Chittagong Hill Tracts)
February remains one of the region’s driest, with daytime temperatures in the low 20s°C and excellent visibility from viewpoints in Bandarban and Khagrachari. Tea estate walks are comfortable and hotels in Srimangal are quieter before the spring crowds. River valleys can still hold early morning mist, so bring a light sweater for boat excursions on the Surma.
Southern Coast & Sundarbans (Khulna, Sundarbans, Kuakata, Patuakhali)
February stays dry and calm with very good visibility for wildlife spotting and early-morning photographic safaris; the cool breezes off the Bay of Bengal are refreshing. Kuakata’s long beach is pleasant for walks and local fishermen prepare for pre-summer fishing runs. Accommodation is quieter than the peak holiday weeks, so you can often negotiate better prices.
Cox’s Bazar & St. Martin’s Island (Southeast coast, Teknaf, Himchari)
February remains one of the best months for beach time: clear skies, calm seas and low humidity make the long sandy shore ideal for long walks and boat trips to St. Martin’s Island. Water clarity improves and snorkeling near St. Martin’s is at its best before the busy season peaks. Avoid midday sunburn by using reef-safe sunscreen and seek shade during the hottest hours.
