January presents crisp days and chilly, foggy mornings in Dhaka and the surrounding floodplain; dawn visibility in the city is often low, grounding early flights occasionally. Days warm quickly into the high teens or low 20s°C, making sightseeing tolerable and the many rooftop cafés pleasant. January delivers cool, dry days and excellent visibility along the world’s longest natural sea beach at Cox’s Bazar; mornings are pleasantly cool at 18-22°C. This is peak domestic season: expect crowded stretches near Laboni Point and bookings fill fast for beachside hotels. Early-morning walks, sunrise at Himchari and seafood markets are delightful - bring a light jacket for breezy dawns.
