Yerevan and the Ararat Plain

A seasonally transitional June brings steady warming and long daylight, with the Ararat Plain moving into reliably hot, dry summer weather. Outdoor festivals and rooftop terraces in Yerevan come into their own, and it’s a convenient time for late walks toward the Cascade at sunset. Pack summer clothing, sun protection and a light jacket for cooler evenings; plan strenuous countryside activities for early morning to avoid the afternoon heat.

Lake Sevan and Gegharkunik Highlands

Summertime in the highlands peaks in June and July with long, sunlit days and temperatures that feel restrained by elevation - ideal if you want cooler weather than Yerevan. Outdoor activities such as trout fishing, hiking, and beach picnics are at their best, but always be prepared for brisk winds off the lake and occasional thunderstorms in the afternoon. A layered wardrobe and windbreaker will keep you comfortable for lakeside adventures.

Northern Highlands (Lori, Tavush, Dilijan)

May in the northern highlands is explosive with green growth; warm days, blossoming orchards and full rivers make it one of the loveliest months for multi‑day treks. Birdsong is constant in trailside groves and forest shelters re-open fully for the season.
