How to Get to Aparan
Aparan is best accessed from Yerevan by road; Zvartnots Airport (EVN) is the practical air gateway. Marshrutkas and regional buses are the usual local transport; trains are not a practical option for this destination.
Zvartnots International Airport, Yerevan (EVN): EVN is the main international airport for reaching Aparan (about 60-90 km by road). Travel by taxi or shared minibus (marshrutka) takes around 1.5-2 hours; taxi fares from Yerevan to Aparan are typically AMD 8,000-15,000 depending on vehicle and negotiation.
Shirak Airport, Gyumri (LWN): Gyumri is farther north-west and less convenient for Aparan; overland travel from Gyumri will be longer (several hours) so most visitors use Yerevan.
Train: Armenia’s passenger rail network is limited; there is no direct passenger rail service to Aparan. The closest regular passenger rail services operate in Yerevan for other destinations; rail is not a practical option for Aparan travel.
Bus / Marshrutka: Shared minibuses (marshrutkas) and regional buses run from Yerevan’s Northern Bus Station (Nor Nork / Sasuntsi Davit area) toward Aparan and nearby towns; journey times are around 1.5-2 hours and fares are modest (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand AMD).
