The National Gallery of Armenia is the principal public art museum in Yerevan, holding the country’s main collection of Armenian painting, sculpture and works on paper alongside regional and European art. It functions as both exhibition space and repository for major national holdings.

Permanent displays present Armenian modern and contemporary art together with representative works from neighboring cultures and selected European art. The gallery also organises temporary exhibitions and loans to present international art within its galleries.

The institution developed from state and municipal collections during the 20th century and has been housed in the Republic Square cultural complex since the Soviet era, growing its holdings through acquisitions and donations. It remains the main site for viewing canonical works of Armenian visual art.

Situated on Republic Square in central Yerevan, the gallery forms part of the city’s cultural core and is adjacent to the History Museum of Armenia.
