About Yeh Sanih#
This shady seaside spot is a popular destination with sun-seekers. The beach is a little rocky but good for swimming, and the area’s main draw is an enclosed natural pool of clear, refreshing water welling up from an underground spring. It has been a favourite recreation site with locals since the early 1930s.
The water is said to come from Lake Batur in the mountains, and the temple beside the pool is dedicated to Lord Vishnu; water from the spring is sometimes used in Hindu religious ceremonies. Light sea breezes, tall trees and a fine panorama over the expansive Bali Strait make for a truly serene setting, and most visitors combine a swim with a trip to the temple.
There are usually very few people about, so it is quite possible to have the beach to yourself for the day. About 500 metres offshore lies a reasonable snorkelling area, with a much better one further out still.
