The Weeping Wall in Montana is a series of waterfalls and seepage lines on a steep rock face along Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park. The site frequently sprays the road during high runoff and is a well-known roadside feature on the park’s principal scenic drive.

The waterfalls are the product of mountain runoff and spring snowmelt flowing over fractured rock and talus, creating seasonal cascades that vary in volume through the year. The flow can form ice in winter and contributes to local rockfall and slope changes over time.

The Weeping Wall is located within Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana, along the Going-to-the-Sun Road near the high alpine area around Logan Pass. The surrounding landscape is alpine terrain of glaciated peaks, cirques, and valleys.

• Best time to visit: Best seen from the Going-to-the-Sun Road pullouts; peak flow and misting of the road occur during spring snowmelt in late spring and early summer.

Access is via Going-to-the-Sun Road (State Route 564/US-2 depending on approach) within Glacier National Park. The road is seasonal; check the National Park Service website for current opening dates and driving conditions. Parking is at designated pullouts along the road.

• Plan the drive on Going-to-the-Sun Road during daylight; the Weeping Wall is best viewed from the eastbound side.
• Allow time for other short stops along the road - many viewpoints are clustered and worth a slow drive.
• If visiting in winter, check Glacier National Park road opening schedules - Going-to-the-Sun Road is seasonal and often closed to vehicles until late spring.
