Varnavas is a village in East Attica in the Attica region of Greece and is administered as part of the municipality of Marathon. It is an inland settlement set among the hills of northeastern Attica and functions as a local agricultural and residential community.
The village became part of the larger Marathon municipality under Greece’s 2011 local government reorganization. Varnavas is characterized by village-scale streets, local churches and community services typical of small interior Attic settlements.
Varnavas lies inland from the eastern Attica coastline, northeast of central Athens, situated within the hilly terrain of the region and connected to surrounding towns by local roads.
