Most international travelers arrive via Tashkent International Airport (TAS), Uzbekistan’s primary gateway and the main air hub for reaching the capital, Tashkent, and onward travel around the country. Uzbekistan also has other international options, including Urgench International Airport (UGC) and Navoi International Airport (NVI), useful for reaching different parts of the country without routing through the capital.
Beyond the main gateway, several airports matter for Uzbekistan’s key destinations and regional centers. Samarkand International Airport (SKD) and Bukhara International Airport (BHK) serve two of the best-known Silk Road cities, while Nukus International Airport (NCU) links to Nukus, home to the Savitsky Museum. In the Fergana Valley, Fergana International Airport (FEG), Namangan International Airport (NMA), and Andizhan Airport (AZN) support travel between major valley cities. Termez Airport (TMJ) adds coverage in the south, and Tashkent is also served by Tashkent East Airport. With 12 airports offering scheduled commercial service, domestic flying can complement overland travel when crossing between regions such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khorezm via Urgench.
