Dubai & the Northern Coast (Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman)

By October the heat has eased to comfortable daytime highs around 28-32°C and evenings cool into the low 20s, making beach days and city sightseeing equally pleasant. This is the start of the busiest tourist season: expect higher hotel rates and fuller restaurants, especially on weekends. It’s an excellent month for marina promenades, desert camping and outdoor dining - bring a light jacket for breezy nights on the coast.

Abu Dhabi & the Western Coast (Abu Dhabi city, Al Dhafra, Yas, Saadiyat)

October is markedly more comfortable: daytime highs settle in the high 20s-low 30s°C and humidity eases, making longer outdoor itineraries feasible. Cultural festivals and weekend markets restart in force, and it’s a good month for kayaking around the eastern mangroves or visiting cultural sites. Nights are pleasantly cool - a light jacket is useful for evening dining on the Corniche.

Hajar Mountains & Northern Highlands (Ras Al Khaimah, Jebel Jais, Jabal Hafeet approaches)

By October the highlands are in their prime for outdoor activity: comfortable daytime conditions, cooler nights and dramatically clearer skies. This is a busy season for weekend climbers from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so expect popular trailheads to be occupied and book guided trips in advance. Bring layered clothing - mornings are cool, but strong sun at mid-day requires sun protection.

Fujairah & the East Coast (Fujairah city, Khor Fakkan, Dibba)

October brings very agreeable sea and air temperatures, with daytime highs often in the mid-20s-low 30s°C and calm water ideal for diving. The Hajar mountains nearby are also pleasant for day trips through Wadi Tayyibah and Wadi Al Hayl. Weekends draw both local and visiting Emirati families to beach resorts, so popular beaches can be busy; book hotel rooms early if you need a weekend stay.

Rub’ al Khali & Desert Interior (Liwa, Empty Quarter approaches)

October is a welcome shoulder-season month in the desert: daytime temperatures often return to comfortable high-20s-low-30s°C and nights are cool, ideal for multi-day camping and long dune treks. The Liwa Date Festival and other local events sometimes fall in this window, making it a culturally interesting time to visit. Road conditions improve after summer and operators expand available activities.
