Ulcinj City
City in Montenegro with beautiful beaches
Ulcinj leans toward Albania—Ottoman lanes and a compact old town sit above Velika Plaža, a long sandy beach popular with kite surfers. Seafood grills, a fortified acropolis and simple guesthouses define the town’s coastal pace.
Why Visit Ulcinj?#
A mix of Albanian-influenced culture and long coastal stretches makes Ulcinj especially appealing to beach lovers and watersport enthusiasts. The Old Town’s narrow alleys and Ottoman-era architecture sit above Velika Plaža (Long Beach), a nearly 12-kilometre sweep of sand popular for kitesurfing and sunbathing. Seaside cafés serve fresh fish and Balkan specialties, and cultural ties to neighboring Albania give the town a distinct linguistic and culinary character on Montenegro’s coast.
