Funafuti

May marks the beginning of the drier period and is one of the most comfortable months to be on Fongafale: humidity drops, easterly-southeasterly trades strengthen and swells moderate. Water visibility improves, so diving and reef trips around the buoyed passes are more reliable; small boat services to outer islets resume more predictably. Northern atolls
Nanumea, Nanumanga, Niutao, Nui
