Tomb of Ferdowsi

The Tomb of Ferdowsi is a 20th-century mausoleum in Tus, Iran, built to commemorate the Persian poet Ferdowsi (c. 940-1020). It stands as an important national cultural monument for Iran.

The site is centered on a domed mausoleum and surrounding landscaped grounds where people come to pay respects and to learn about Ferdowsi’s epic, the Shahnameh. The complex includes museum displays and inscriptions quoting passages from the Shahnameh.
