The Imam Reza shrine is located in the heart of Mashhad and is easily reached by taxi, city bus or short walk from many central hotels. From Mashhad International Airport expect a 30-45 minute taxi ride into the city center (roughly 15-20 km). The shrine complex is in Mashhad’s central district, so once in the city most visitors walk or take short local trips to reach the entrances.
