Tlayacapan is reached via Mexico City (MEX) or the closer Cuernavaca airport (CVJ). There is no passenger rail; most visitors use intercity buses to nearby hubs (Yautepec or Cuautla) then local colectivos or taxis for the short final leg.

By Air

Mexico City International Airport (MEX): The main international gateway for central Mexico. To reach Tlayacapan you typically take an intercity bus from Mexico City to nearby Morelos towns (Yautepec or Cuautla) and then a local colectivo or taxi the last leg; total travel time from Mexico City including connections is commonly 2-3 hours. Expect Mexico City → Yautepec/Cuautla intercity bus fares around 100-250 MXN, then a colectivo or local taxi to Tlayacapan for roughly 20-60 MXN.

General Mariano Matamoros Airport, Cuernavaca (CVJ): A smaller airport closer to Morelos. From Cuernavaca you can take a taxi or collectivo toward Yautepec/Cuautla and then a short local colectivo to Tlayacapan; travel time is roughly 40-80 minutes by road depending on traffic. Taxi fares from Cuernavaca to Tlayacapan are commonly higher than colectivos (several hundred MXN).
