How to Get to Tizimín
Tizimín is best accessed by bus from Mérida or Cancún. Mérida is the nearest major airport and has frequent coach connections to Tizimín's bus terminal.
Mérida International Airport (MID): Mérida (Manuel Crescencio Rejón) is the closest major airport to Tizimín. From Mérida you can take an ADO or local bus to Tizimín; travel time is roughly 2.5-3 hours depending on service and traffic, with regular departures from Mérida’s bus terminal.
Cancún International Airport (CUN): Cancún is also an option for international arrivals. Buses from Cancún to Tizimín run less frequently than from Mérida and take roughly 3.5-4.5 hours by coach; private transfers are available as well.
Train: There is no passenger rail service to Tizimín; rail is not part of the intercity transport for this route.
Bus: ADO and other coach companies run regular services to Tizimín from Mérida and some routes from Cancún and Valladolid. Buses are comfortable and the recommended public transport option; arrive at the terminal a little early for ticketing.

Tizimín’s historic centre is compact and walkable, with most shops and the main plaza reachable on foot. Regional colectivos and buses connect Tizimín with Mérida, Valladolid and other Yucatán towns; local taxis handle short trips within town. Fares are low; during festival periods expect crowded transport and higher demand for taxis, so plan ahead and carry pesos in small denominations.
