How to Get to Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is reached by ferry from Cancun after arriving at Cancún International Airport (CUN). The fastest route is a short taxi or bus ride to Puerto Juárez and a 15-minute ferry crossing.
Cancún International Airport (CUN): The usual gateway to Isla Mujeres. From CUN you can take a taxi or ADO bus to one of the ferry terminals in Cancun (Puerto Juárez or Gran Puerto). Road transfer from the airport to Puerto Juárez is typically 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
Isla Mujeres air options: There are no regular scheduled flights to Isla Mujeres; the island is reached by ferry from Cancun’s ferry terminals.
Train: There is no train link to Isla Mujeres.
Bus / Ferry: Take a bus or taxi from the airport to Puerto Juárez or Gran Puerto Cancun and then the Ultramar or other ferry to Isla Mujeres. Ultramar ferries from Puerto Juárez take about 15 minutes; fares on the fast ferry are typically in the region of 200-250 MXN one-way depending on carrier and season.

Isla Mujeres is small and flat, making walking one of the best ways to get around the town and beaches. Golf carts and scooters are the most popular rentals for exploring the island; taxis operate too but can be pricier.
