How to Get to Chaiyaphum
Chaiyaphum is best reached by road from Bangkok or Khon Kaen; there is no direct passenger railway into the town. Regular intercity buses and minivans from Mo Chit are the most straightforward option for most travellers.
Khon Kaen Airport (KKC): Khon Kaen is the nearest regional airport with domestic flights from Bangkok. From Khon Kaen city centre you can catch a bus or minivan to Chaiyaphum; the trip takes about 1.5-2 hours.
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) / Don Mueang (DMK): Bangkok’s airports are the main international gateways. From Bangkok take an intercity bus from Mo Chit (Northern Bus Terminal) direct to Chaiyaphum (about 4-5 hours) or travel by train as far as practical then switch to road transport.
Train: There is no direct intercity rail line into Chaiyaphum town. Travellers typically take trains to nearby larger railheads (e.g. Phitsanulok area or Kaeng Khoi junction) and continue by bus or minivan.
