How to Get to Tha Maka
Tha Maka (Kanchanaburi province) is easiest reached overland from Bangkok by coach, minivan or the Kanchanaburi rail connection; there are no nearby international airports. Once in Kanchanaburi you'll use local buses, songthaews or taxis to reach Tha Maka itself.
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): The main international gateway for central Thailand. From Suvarnabhumi you can reach Kanchanaburi province (where Tha Maka is located) by private transfer in about 2-3 hours; coach services to Kanchanaburi town are around 2.5-3.5 hours and cost ~150-300 THB.
Don Mueang International Airport (DMK): Mostly for low‑cost carriers; travel times to Kanchanaburi by road are similar to Suvarnabhumi but services are less direct - allow 2.5-3.5 hours by car and comparable taxi prices.
Train: The nearest mainline rail access is via Kanchanaburi Railway Station (terminus of the short local line from Nong Pla Duk Junction). From Bangkok, the mixed/ordinary trains to Kanchanaburi take about 2.5-3 hours; from Kanchanaburi you’ll need a local taxi or songthaew to reach Tha Maka (20-40 minutes).
Bus / Minivan: Regular buses and minivans run from Bangkok’s Southern and Western bus terminals to Kanchanaburi town; local buses and songthaews connect Kanchanaburi with Tha Maka and surrounding subdistricts. Typical bus fares from Bangkok are ~100-200 THB and local hops are cheaper (20-80 THB).
